Finding an apartment is not an easy task!!

Renting

• 1st hand contract - this is when you have the contract to rent directly from the landlord. [high-level of rental security]
• 2nd Hand Contract - this is when you are renting from the 1st hand contract holder. [low-level of rental security]
  
  Note:When you rent an apartment 2nd hand the landlord or association needs to have provided their permission to the 1st hand contract holder, if this has not happened it can directly effect you and your ablity stay there.
• Flatting - as we know it does not really occur in Sweden, it is more common to have a small apartment on your own than rent as part of a group of people.

• Stockholms Stads Bostadsförmedling AB arranges rental flats under original leases. You must apply to the housing queue to get a flat via the Housing Service. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a Swedish personal ID number or coordination number to apply.
