ATTENTION: NEW ZEALANDERS
As you will know there will be a General Election in New Zealand sometime within the next three months (the latest it can be held is 15 November 2008).
If you are a New Zealand citizen and have visited New Zealand within the last three years, or you are a permanent resident of New Zealand and have visited New Zealand within the last twelve months
And you are enrolled you will be able to vote.
If you are not sure if you are currently enrolled you can check your status on line. You can also enrol on line. Go to www.elections.org.nz and click on enrol or update my details and follow the instructions. When the time comes to cast your vote you will be able to do so at the Embassy, or you can download voting papers, or contact the Embassy and request the voting papers be posted to you. If you choose the latter way you must tell us what electorate you believe you are enrolled in.
If you complete the ballot papers at your home you may either post them to New Zealand (address will be on the envelope) or return them to the Embassy and we will forward them to the Chief Electoral Office. You cannot return your voting papers by fax or by email.
